One of my screens is upside down 

Have no fear, this is actually how the product was designed and is a simple adjustment! Please see below for instructions on how to easily rotate the screen on a PC and Mac.

PC: 

  1. Go to your Display Settings (Start > Settings > System > Display)
  2. Identify the upside down screen by clicking the "Identify" button
  3. Click on the upside down screen within the display menu, highlighting it blue (as shown below)
  4. Next scroll down on the display menu and click on the "Orientation" dropdown menu and select "Landscape (flipped)". If this is already selected, then select "Landscape"

    Mac: 

    1. Open "System Preferences" 
    2. Select "Displays" from the menu
    3. Move your cursor to the upside down screen
    4. Click on the display menu in the upside down screen. Then click on the "Rotation" dropdown menu and select "180 degrees". If this is already selected, then select "Standard"

     

    What cables do I use?

    The combination of cables that you will use depends on the types of ports your laptop has. Take a look at your laptop and note which ports you have and how many.

    Below is a chart of some of the most common ports found on a laptop. Check it out for reference.

    Now that you know which ports your laptop has you can determine what cable(s) you need to connect each screen. Remember that each screen requires both a video and power feed to function.

    If your laptop has an available Thunderbolt 3 port or USB-C with DisplayPort you can provide both power and video to one of the Tri-Screens over a single USB-C cable.

    If your laptop has an available HDMI port and a USB-A port (the "normal" USB port) then you will 2 separate cables. The HDMI cable for video and the USB-A to USB-C cable for power.

    If you don't have an available HDMI port then you can use any other video out port shown above, along with a simple HDMI adapter for video and the USB-A to USB-C cable for power.

    Please note that not all USB-C ports support video. Please reference your laptops online user manual to verify.

    If your laptop has two Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C with DisplayPort portsthe simplest way to use the Tri-Screen is with the two included USB-C 90 degree to USB-C cables. You will plug one end of the cable into the Thununderbolt 3 port on your laptop and then plug the other end into the "Video + Power" port on the Tri-Screen. This is the port with the following symbol: 

    Please note that this is different from the "Power Only" port, despite the fact that they are the same shape. The "Power Only" port is indicated with a battery symbol.

    If your laptop does not have any Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C with DisplayPort ports, you will need to use one USB-A to USB-C cable to supply power and one HDMI to Mini-HDMI cable to supply the video feed for each screen.

    For power, get the included USB-A to USB-C cable, plug one end into the USB-A port on your laptop and plug the other end into the "power only" USB-C port of the Tri-Screen. This is the USB-C port furthest from the buttons and has a battery symbol. 

    For the video feed, get the included HDMI cable and plug one end into your laptop and the other end into the mini-HDMI port on the Tri-Screen.

    If your laptop does not have a Thunderbolt 3 port or USB-C with DisplayPort or an HDMI port, then you can use any other video out ports shown above along with a simple HDMI adapter.

    The screen(s) won't turn on

    If your screens won't turn on then you first need to check your connections.

    • Make sure that you have BOTH a video AND power feed going to each screen. Unless your laptop has a USB-C with Display port or a Thunderbolt 3 port you will need to use 2 cables per screen to it to function. (1 HDMI video cable and 1 USB-C cable power)
    • - If you are using a USB-C port on your laptop along with a single USB-C 90 degree to USB-C cable for power and video, make sure that your laptop supports video over this USB-C port. Search for your laptop user manual online for these details.
    • - If you are using a USB splitter or USB-Hub try plugging the cables directly into the laptop ports instead of the hub or splitter and see if that fixes the problem. Most splitters and hubs split the power from a single USB port thus restricting the required power supply to each screen.

      Next, make sure that you are using the correct combination of cables. Read through the section above for more info on the correct cables.

      "No Signal" or "No Input" messages are appearing on my screen

      If you are getting a message on one of the screens that says "No Signal" or "No Input" see below tor some troubleshooting tips!

      • Make sure that you have BOTH a video AND power feed going to each screen. Unless your laptop has a USB-C with Display port or a Thunderbolt 3 port you will need to use 2 cables per screen to it to function. (1 HDMI video cable and 1 USB-C cable power)
      • - If you are using a USB-C port on your laptop along with a single USB-C 90 degree to USB-C cable for power and video, make sure that your laptop supports video over this USB-C port. Search for your laptop user manual online for these details.
      • - If you are using a USB splitter or USB-Hub try plugging the cables directly into the laptop ports instead of the hub or splitter and see if that fixes the problem. Most splitters and hubs split the power from a single USB port thus restricting the required power supply to each screen.

      "Input Not Support" message is showing on my screen for Mac

      If you have a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro and you are getting a message on one of the screens that says "Input Not Support" have no fear, this is an easy fix! 

      1. Plug your the USB-A to USB-C cable and HDMI cable into both your laptop and screen until you see this error message again.
      2. Open up your display settings. (System Preferences > Display)
      3. Click the "Gather Windows" button in the bottom right hand corner of your display settings window.
      4. Click on the window that pops up right behind your primary window and open it up (shown below).
      5. Click on the "Scaled" radio button.
      6. Change the selection in the dropdown to 1080i or 720P (click confirm).

      Now you are all set!

      My audio isn't working now

      If you are having audio issues or no longer hearing any sound from your laptop after installing the Xebec Tri-Screen, have no fear this is a super simple adjustment.

      How do I connect the Tri-Screen to my laptop?

      Simply put, the Xebec Tri-Screen works with almost ALL laptops. It works with Mac, Windows, Linux, Chromebook and any device with a video out source. Below we will take a deep dive for those who have specific compataiblity questions. If you too are curious, read on!

      The Tri-Screen has 3 inputs as shown below.

      In short, each screen requires both power and video to function. Your laptop will serve as the source for this power and video. The inputs you will use for your setup will depend on your laptop ports.

      For example, if your laptop has a USB‑C with DisplayPort output (as shown below), then you will only need to use a single cable going from this port in your laptop to the USB Type-C (video & power) input on the Tri-Screen to provide both power and video.

      Check the edges of your laptop (or your laptop's user manual) and identify the types of video ports and USB ports your laptop has. Laptop video ports come in many different formats: HDMI, Displayport, Mini-Displayport, VGA, Thunderbolt 3, and USB 3.0 (with HDMI adapter) are a few examples.

      If your laptop doesn't have 2 USB‑C ports with DisplayPort output, then you will need to use a combination of one of these other video ports (shown above) along with two USB ports for power.

      Using the included USB-A to USB-C cables, you will plug one end into the Tri-Screen USB Type-C (power only) port and the other end into your laptop's USB-A port. Using the included HMDI to Mini HDMI cable, you will plug one end into the Tri-Screen Mini HDMI video input and the other end into your laptop video port. Note, you may require a simple HDMI adapter depending on your specific setup.
